Montag, 08. Dezember 2014
The Swiftly Green project has passed half time and a mid-term conference was arranged in Brussels 4 November. More than fifty people participated and the EU Commission was represented by Mr. Leo Huberts, DG Move and Mrs. Sofia Papantoniadou, Project Officer at INEA. Results achieved so far and pre-selected best practice cases were presented at the conference by partners of the Swiftly Green project team.
"We have gathered lot of input and the challenge will now be to set the structure of the Toolbox and to make the data accessible for the end-user" says Ingemar Moen, Lindholmen Science Park and project Manager for Swiftly Green
"There is a lot of work in front of us but our project team is experienced and I feel confident in the contribution from all partners" says Ingemar Moen.
The Swiftly Green project also aims to develop and promote environmentally friendly transport and logistics solutions for Europe, based on best practice examples. At the conference, three different best practice examples were presented by project partners. One of the presentations was held by Procter & Gamble and described the Eurotunnel shuttle train project. Port of Trelleborg presented port development measures that will help them become the most climate-smart port of the Baltic Sea. Finally the team from Bremen showed compensation measures in the context of nature conservation and species protection in Bremerhafen.
